Re-Pairing: Helping Couples Have Deeper Conversations After Hard TimesA workshop for couples therapists and psychotherapists, and fund-raiser for the Institute for Health and Healing
Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9:00am-12:00pm Institute for Health and Healing, California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco
We can learn to benefit from the inevitable challenges of intimacy and sexuality rather than fear or avoid them, and find meaningful ways to "re-pair" and connect deeply again with significant others when silences, pressures, arguments and differences have taken their toll. Specific processes will be presented to help couples reconnect.
This three-hour workshop includes:
- An essential formulation putting “the couple” back in couple therapy
- Specific Re-Pairing and nonspecific treatment effects, such as therapist attitudes
- Role-playing of couple therapy
- Buddhist concepts relevant to couples’ systems
